아일랜드 여신의 “트럼프 귀 조심”

요즘 트럼프가 잘 나간다. 적어도 남한과 북조선에서는 정말 잘 나간다. 누가 뒤를 팍팍 밀어주고 있는 모양이다. 누굴까. 아일랜드의 한 여신이시다. 이 여신, 사실은 문재인과 김정은도 팍팍 밀어주고 있다.

이 여신은 ‘사랑의 여신’이다. 트럼프가 마침내 공개석상에서 김정은에 대한 뜨거운 사랑고백을 하고 말았다. 이 커밍아웃은 사실 여신의 기획작품이다. 트럼프가 김정은과 사랑에 빠진 게 바로 여신의 중매 덕인 것이다. 문재인과 김정은의 브로맨스야 이미 동네방네 소문 다 났다. 역시 여신의 작품이다.

‘통치권의 여신’이다. 이건 좀 긴 얘기니 요약하자. 한 못된 왕이 어느날 여신을 강간했다. 여신은 놈의 귀를 물어 뜯었다. 그 바람에 강간범은 귀 한쪽이 없어졌다. 놈은 ‘외귀’로 불리게 됐다. 불명예스런 별명이 문제가 아니었다. 귀가 하나 없어졌다는 것은 통치권, 왕권의 상실을 의미했다. 아일랜드의 고대법에는 “불구 아닌 자만이 통치할 수 있다, An 'unblemished' person can rule.'는 룰이 있었기 때문이다. 결과적으로 여신은 강간왕을 폐위시킴 셈이다. 이때부터 여신은 권력과 통치권을 주기고, 빼앗기도 하는 역할을 맡게 됐다.

미국은 11월 중간 선거를 앞두고 있다. 트럼프와 공화당은 민주당의 반격을 걱정하고 있다. 트럼프가 탄핵을 걱정하지 않을 수 없는 이유가 여기에 있다. 이 판국에 여신이 귀라도 물면 큰일이다. 그러므로 트럼프는 여신이 화낼 일은 절대 해서는 안된다. 예를 들면 귀 물릴 짓 하면 안된다. 여신에게 사랑받을 짓만 골라해야 한다. 예를 들면 ‘김정은에게 사랑고백’ 같은 거 말이다.

In early tales she is associated with the semi-mythological King of Munster, Ailill Aulom, who is said to have raped her, an assault ending in Áine biting off his ear, hence the name Aulom "one-eared". By Old Irish law, only an "unblemished" person can rule; by maiming him this way, Áine rendered him unfit to be king. As an embodiment of sovereignty, she can both grant and remove a man's power to rule.[3] The descendants of Aulom, the Eóganachta, claim Áine as an ancestor.
In other tales Áine is the wife of Gerald Fitz Gerald, 3rd Earl of Desmond, known popularly as "Iarl Gearóid". Rather than having a consensual marriage, he rapes her (thought to be based on the story of Ailill Aulom), and she exacts her revenge by either changing him into a goose, killing him or both. The Fitz Geralds thus claim an association with Áine; despite the Norman origins of the clan, the FitzGeralds would become known for being "More Irish than the Irish themselves."
In yet other versions of her myth, she is the wife or daughter of the sea god, Manannán mac Lir. The feast of Midsummer Night was held in her honor.[citation needed] In County Limerick, she is remembered in more recent times as Queen of the Fairies.
