John Bolton was a snake before the government took him in
Donald Trump’s favourite party piece on the 2016 campaign trail was to read aloud the words to a song called “The Snake”, written, ironically enough (more irony coming shortly), by a civil rights activist called Oscar Brown.
It is itself based on one of Aesop’s fables. An elderly woman takes in a dying snake, nurtures it back to health, and it repays her for her kindness in the final verse by, to her considerable disappointment, fatally biting her. (Áß·«)
Of course, all of this will very much be in the UK’s interests, and any suggestion that we should have known damn well Bolton was a snake before we took him in is entirely without merit. (ÇÏ·«, ÀεðÆæ´øÆ® Tuesday 13 August 2019)

He’s like a snake – always has been
Think back to 2016 and the campaign then. Donald Trump used to recite a poem about a woman who took a dying snake into her house and nursed it back to health. The snake did become healthy and then immediately whipped around and bit the woman.
As she breathed her last breath, the woman asked the snake, “Why did you do this?” “Well, because I’m a snake,” was the reply. “That’s what we do.”
All of which somehow reminds us of disgraced former National Security Clown Corrupt Loser Sleazebag John Bolton. Republicans in Washington might seem shocked to discover that Corrupt Loser Sleazebag John Bolton has turned and betrayed his former boss, Donald Trump, but they shouldn’t be shocked. That’s who Corrupt Loser Sleazebag John Bolton is. That’s who Corrupt Loser Sleazebag John Bolton has always been. That’s what Corrupt Loser Sleazebag John Bolton does. And not to brag, but we called it long ago. (ÈÄ·«, usa-memes.com 2020.01.29)

Who Really is John Bolton? The Washington Swamp Snakes Emerge
(Àü·«) Why was this snake brought into the President Trump’s Administration, particularly since the President has campaigned against endless wars? Well, look at the Republican Party which Trump was saddled with from 2016 forward, a whole section of which is composed of knuckledraggers like Bolton, Dick Cheney, and the media and Washington favorite, John McCain. Another whole section is composed of Christian Zionists like Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo. Mitt Romney heads the old George H.W. Bush section of the party. It is this party which the President has to wield to govern while he attempts its wholesale transformation.(ÇÏ·«, larouchepac, January 28, 2020)

You Can’t Say Trump Didn’t Warn Us
Dating back to his days on the campaign trail, President Trump has often recited a poem called “The Snake,” as a warning about the dangers of welcoming refugees and immigrants into the country. (ÇÏ·«, ´º¿åŸÀÓ½º Dec. 18, 2019)
