빈수레가 요란했다. '드루킹 특검'이 빈손으로 끝났다. 결국 특검은 곁가지로 노회찬만 건드려 죽음의 길로 내몬 셈이 됐다. 속상하다. 그리운 마음에 그의 이름을 검색어로 넣어 이런저런 사진을 보았다. 사진을 보니 더 속상해진다. 가장 속상한 건 낡을대로 낡은 그의 구두 사진이다.

아일랜드의 구두쟁이 요정에게 구두 한 켤레 만들어 달라고 부탁했다. 신발을 만들고, 수선하고, 판매도 하는 요정이다. 다른 요정들이 단골이다. 요정들은 춤추고 뛰는 걸 좋아해 신발 밑창이 빨리 닳는다. 밑창이 닳으면 신발가게를 찾아와 새 걸 사거나 밑창을 간다. 이제 노회찬 요정도 그 신발가게의 단골이 될 것이다.

“잘 만들어 드려야지.....”

레프리콘. Leprechaun. 구두 명인. 하루종일 신발을 수선하거나 만든다. 노회찬처럼 유머감각 출중. enjoys practical jokes. 보물이 숨겨져 있는 장소를 알고 있지만 아무에게도 말하지 않는다. have a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

생김새
수염난 난쟁이 노인. about three feet high. 뾰족한 코에 안경 걸치고 있는 경우 많음. 모자 즐겨 쓰심. Prior to the 20th century, it was generally held that the leprechaun wore red, not green.

이름 유래
The name leprechaun is derived from the Irish word leipreachán, defined by Patrick Dinneen as "a pigmy, a sprite, or leprechaun". The further derivation is less certain; according to most sources, the word is thought to be a corruption of Middle Irish luchrupán, from the Old Irish luchorpán, a compound of the roots lú ("small") and corp ("body").

In politics
In the politics of the Republic of Ireland, leprechauns have been used to refer to the twee aspects of the tourist industry in Ireland.

Popular culture
Films, television cartoons and advertising have popularised a specific image of leprechauns which bears little resemblance to anything found in the cycles of Irish folklore. It can be considered that the popularised image of a leprechaun is little more than a series of stereotypes based on derogatory 19th-century caricatures.
